About Karen J. Moskowitz
Karen grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and never left, except for college at the University of Arizona in Tucson and for some international travelling and studying abroad.
She spent two summers (winter there) in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina living with a local family, going to school, speaking Spanish, and skiing almost every day in the Andes Mountains. In college, Karen spent a semester studying in Florence, Italy, then travelled throughout Western Europe.
She earned her law degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 1992, and began her civil litigation practice at O’Connor Cavanagh. In 1996, she joined the Viad Corp Law Department where she reviewed, drafted, and negotiated commercial and real estate contracts. Karen eventually left Viad to raise her three daughters, and returned to law practice in 2013.
Over the years, Karen has volunteered in the Paradise Valley Unified School District in many roles – in the classroom, in the PTA, on School Council, and has served on various district committees. Her interest in schools led her to work as a consultant with School Choice International, a company that assists transferring families in finding the best schools for their children. Karen enjoyed working in this capacity with international families who were relocating to the Phoenix area, and also became a relocation consultant with Dwellworks, helping international transferees become familiar with the Phoenix area, find housing, apply for their social security card and driver’s license, and open bank accounts.
Karen served as an Auxiliary Board Member for Kivel Campus of Care. She enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family and her two Havanese dogs.
